Professional Background
I hold an MBA from Yale with a focus on Small Business Strategy and Operations Management, providing me with a strong foundation in effective, sustainable growth for small businesses. I began my career as a public educator, where I learned the importance of clear communication and building a positive, collaborative culture. Following my time in education, I served as a Naval Officer, leading logistics operations in complex environments that strengthened my skills in organizational leadership and mission-critical resource management. This blend of strategic insight, operational experience, and people-centered leadership forms the core of my approach to leading and growing businesses.

What's in a name?
I chose the name Jumping Rock Ventures as a tribute to a special place in our family’s story. Jumping Rock is a large rock on the beach by my father-in-law’s cabin in coastal Downeast Maine, where our family has spent countless summer days. My son coined the name, and it’s become a family favorite—a spot where my kids leap into the frigid Maine water with fearless enthusiasm. It’s a place that embodies both joy and challenge, where bravery, adventure, and the thrill of pushing through difficulty create unforgettable memories.
The rock and cabin carry a sense of legacy as well. My in-laws chose this place thoughtfully, with a vision for creating something lasting that could be enjoyed by future generations. My own family has now partnered in that legacy, adding to the property and making it our own, and Jumping Rock has become a symbol of shared purpose, resilience, and family connection.
For me, Jumping Rock Ventures represents the values that I bring to small business ownership: the courage to embrace challenging paths, the commitment to create something meaningful, and the joy that comes from building a lasting impact that can be shared with others. Just like a jump into the cold Maine ocean, the journey may be demanding, but it’s through these experiences that we find true satisfaction and purpose.
